Ottawa River Power Corporation (ORPC) has partnered with Canadian Hydro Components (CHC) to aid in the manufacturing of 1000 face shields for hospitals and long-term care facilities in both Renfrew and Lanark Counties. Health care worker Evie Le Routhier is seen in the above photo wearing one of the masks produced by CHC.
CHC is a reputable company, based in Almonte, Ontario. Mike Dupuis, President of CHC, stated that they would like to provide shields for front line workers at hospitals and long-term care facilities in surrounding communities. CHC reached out to ORPC and asked if we would like to participate in the effort.
As of last week, masks funded through ORPC’s participation have since made their way to local health care facilities. More masks will continue to be distributed in both Lanark and Renfrew Counties in the coming weeks. CHC has been fielding calls from various organizations requesting face shields, with the numbers continually rising. To date, CHC has provided almost 2500 shields to front line workers.
With the results having an immediate impact on people’s lives, Ottawa River Power is proud to be part of this investment in the communities that they serve. The efforts of all of essential workers are critical to keeping society functioning, and we thank them for their efforts!
