With the current COVID-19 outbreak and the economic impact it may have on our customers, Ottawa River Power is offering the following to assist our customers:

  • The provincial winter disconnection ban will be extended by an additional three months.  The ban, originally scheduled to end on April 30, 2020, is now extended to July 31, 2020.
  • All of our small business and commercial customers will be included in this disconnection ban.
  • There will be no account collection action until July 31, 2020
  • Please contact our office to discuss payment options

If you require financial assistance, the following programs are still available:

Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP).  This program is a year-round emergency financial assistance program developed by the Ontario Energy Board to assist low-income energy customers who may be experiencing difficulty payment current arrears.

The Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP).  If you are in a lower-income home, you may qualify for a reduction on your electricity bill. The Ontario Electricity Support Program will reduce the cost of your household electricity by applying a monthly credit directly to your bill. The credit amount will depend on how many people live in your home and your combined household income.

Time-of-Use Periods

Many of our customers have inquired regarding time-of-use rates.
If there are to be rate changes to the peak times, the Ontario Energy Board will release the announcement.
