  • Due to animal contact an outage occurred at 7:23 a.m. and the crew was able to restore power by 8:00 a.m.  This service interruption affected 940 customers.

  • An outage occurred on Fraser Lane due to a fault in the underground cable.  Renfrew County Housing replaced a fence post right where the line is buried and ORPC Lines Crew believe that the spike that holds the post nicked the line which in turn caused the fault.  The outage affected 455 customers.

  • An outage occurred at 6:13 p.m. because of a faulty underground elbow.  The crew was dispatched and restored power by 7:50 p.m.  There were 300 customers that lost service.

  • At 11:20 a.m. there was an outage that was caused by a blown fuse that affected seven customers.  The service was restored at 1:00 p.m.

  • Due to animal contact there was a service interruption that lasted from 6:20 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.  The outage affected 10 customers.

  • Due to animal contact there was a service interruption at 7 a.m. causing 25 customers to lose service. The crew changed some fuses and restored power at 7:45 a.m.

  • Due to animal contact there was a service interruption at 8 a.m. causing 15 customers to lose service. The crew changed a fuse and restored power at 8:25 a.m.

  • Killaloe was hit by a storm that affected the feeder to the community.  376 customers were without power while the crew worked to clean up trees, fix broken poles, and repair lines that were damaged.  The outage was from 6:43 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. July 23, 2016.

  • A major storm blew through Pembroke causing and outage at 4:45 p.m.  The crew had to remove trees and change fuses.  This storm left 500 customers without power until 10:15 p.m.

  • Due to animal contact there was an outage in Almonte affecting five customers from 8:45 a.m. till the power was restored at 10:00 a.m.  The crew replaced a switch arrestor and refuse switch.

  • In Almonte a contractor dug up the underground wire.  The crew responded and had to disconnect the power and then restore it once the electrician completed their work.

  • A serve storm went through Beachburg and caused an outage due to lightning.  Nine customers were without power from 9:30 a.m. until 11:46 a.m.

  • A lightning strike caused loss of supply to substations 3, 4, 8, 7.  This outage was from 8:54 a.m. to 10:23 a.m. and affected 3,000 customers.

  • Due to animal contact there was an outage at 6:55 a.m. affecting customers on Lea St., Julie St., and Flora St.  Power was restored by 8:00 a.m.

  • Killaloe customers of ORPC customers experienced an outage at 1:04 a.m. because of a loss of supply from Hydro One.  Power was restored at 2:23 a.m.

  • Due to tree interference ORPC was dispatched to Killaloe for an outage that affected 14 customers.  The reclosers operated at 9:40 a.m. ORPC was notified at 11:26 a.m. and the crew had power restored by 1:30 p.m.

  • A severe storm swept through Pembroke causing the most damage ORPC has seen from one storm.  ORPC staff were dispatched and work efficiently at restoring power to our customers as quickly and safely possible.  This outage started at 5:43 p.m. and affected 3,450 customers, must customers were restored by 10:30 a.m. by June 21, 2016.

  • Due to animal contact there was an outage at 6:00 a.m. to 18 customers.  Pembroke lines crew re-fused the transformer restoring power at 8:15 a.m.

  • At 10:20 a.m. there was a loss of supply from Brookfield Power that triggered an outage to 912 customers.  The Pembroke lines crew patrolled the 44KV system, ORPC’s system was all clear.  Brookfield found a tree on the wire in Quebec.  Power was restored by 11:30 a.m.

  • A vehicle accident initiated an outage that affected 30 customers at 5:02 a.m.  The Pembroke and Almonte crews responded, and once the vehicle was removed they got to work.  The crews replaced a 50 foot pole and was able to restore power by 7:07 a.m.

  • Due to animal contact there was an outage at 11:30 a.m. that affected 6 customers to which Pembroke lines crew re-fused the transformer.  The lines crew was able to restore power at 11:45 a.m.

  • 485 customers in the areas of Apple Blossom and Angus Campbell Drive lost power Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. when an arrestor blew causing a phase to phase fault.  Linecrews responded, restoring power by 11:15 a.m.

  • A transformer malfunctioned at 172 Mud Lake Road, Pembroke at 8:30 a.m. affecting 1 customer.  Line crew responded, replacing the transformer and lightning arrestor to restore power at 12:15 p.m.

  • 12 customers lost power at 12:59 p.m. on Ottawa Street in Almonte due to a faulty cutout.  Two members of the Almonte crew responded, replacing the damaged cutout with a new one, and restoring power at 1:58 p.m.

  • A widespread power outage affecting all ORPC customers in Almonte occurred at 4:45 p.m. due to a failed M25 breaker at the Hydro One Transmission Station.  Crews from both Hydro One and ORPC Almonte worked through the night to find the source of the problem.  Their action to transfer the load to another Station, thereby sectionalizing the M25 circuit, successfully restored power town-wide at 2:40 a.m. March 2.

  • Weather conditions caused a power outage that began at 7:16 p.m., affecting 45 customers living on Paul Martin Avenue and Quarry Road in Pembroke.  Members of the ORPC line crew responded, patrolled feeder 6-2, and reclosed the breaker, restoring power at 8:50 p.m.

  • An electrical outage occurred at 4 Mill Street in Almonte, beginning 6:50 a.m. due to a broken cutout.  Two members of the Almonte crew responded, replacing the broken cutout and restoring power to the 10 affected customers living on Mill Street.

  • A hydro pole caught fire on Quarry Road at 5:00 a.m.  Crews were called in from both Pembroke and Almonte, and power was restored at 5:00 p.m.  Approximately 5 customers living on Cecelia Street and MacKay Street, Pembroke, were affected.

  • A planned outage affecting 12 residents of William Street in Killaloe will take place at 9:30 a.m., and last up to 3 hours.  The outage is necessary to perform forestry management.

  • At 9:00 a.m. there was an outage affecting 12 customers on 1816 Beachburg Road, affecting feeder T4086.  Extreme weather caused the secondary Buss to break.  A line crew reconnected the wire and turned the system back on, restoring power at 9:50 a.m.

Monday, January 18, 2016

  • At 3:10 a.m. there was an outage affecting 7 customers, due to a house fire on Maude Street in Mississippi Mills.  The Almonte line crew responded by disconnecting a switch, on the advice of the Fire Department, in order to reduce further hazard.  At 3:45 a.m. the switch was opened and power was restored to the affected customers.

  • A planned outage affecting the streets of Miller and Dominion in Pembroke began at 8:30 a.m. required for pole maintenance/upgrade work.  The outage will last 3 - 4 hours.

  • At approximately 5:30 p.m. there was a power outage in Almonte, affecting the streets of Johanna, Vandusen, Ottawa, Industrial, Patterson, Laroque, Tatra, George, Horton, Kilburn and Honeyborne.  It was caused by a fused switch on SW59.  The Almonte line crew responded to the outage, restoring power at 7:48 p.m.
