- Unplug an appliance before cleaning.
- Never put metal objects in outlets.
- Never overload a receptacle
- Do not run a cord under a rug or furniture.
- Turn off cooking appliances before leaving home
- Use only electrical equipment that is approved by a recognized testing laboratory.
- Don't use electrical equipment when flammable gases, vapors or liquids are present.
- Keep ladders away from overhead power lines
- Never break off the third prong on a plug.
- Don't use extension cords as permanent wiring.
- Pull on the plug, not the cord when unplugging an appliance.
- Have all wiring additions inspected.
- Plant trees away from power lines.
